Summer Learning Opportunities

Make it a meaningful summer!

Hey Laker Nation! What are you doing this summer? Consider spending time exploring a career interest by attending a summer program offered by a college. Many universities offer camps, courses, and programs designed for high school students. Programs vary in terms of intensity, cost, and length. Due to our COVID times, some colleges are hosting their summer programs virtually. We are including the links to many college programs offered throughout the US.

While we encourage you to explore your options for summer experiences, and we help by collecting information for you, we cannot endorse any of the programs below. If you are interested in a particular college or university that is not listed here, please check their website by searching for pre-college or summer programs. Many of these programs have early deadlines and fill up quickly. Scholarships are often available. This list is typically updated in January of each year!

Please also note that because many of these programs are "pay to play" type experiences, it most times does not give a student an advantage when it comes to admission into the college. These are great opportunities to explore career interests, make connections, and experience a glimpse of college life. Spending your summer working or volunteering can also be an incredible way to build your resume and life experience.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Noelle Essig, College and Career Counselor with West Bloomfield High School.
