Division III Math Pentathlon students compete at tournament

Recently, Math Pentathletes from Michigan and Ohio competed in the Math Pentathlon Division III competition at Stoney Creek High School in Rochester Hills, MI. West Bloomfield had a team of 24 students compete in the competition. Students showed their skills in math games and completing math problems.

In total, seven students from West Bloomfield earned medals in the competition with five students earning Honorable Mention. All students showed sportsmanship no matter the result. The district's seven medal winners and five students earning Honorable Mentions are:

Hall of Fame Gold Medal (won all 5 games)
Michael Sokoli - Mr. DeGrand (5th Grade)
 
Silver Medal (won 4 games and lost 1 game)
Andrew Dean - Mrs. MacColl (4th Grade)  
Brenden Doyle - Mrs. Kile (4th Grade)
Eli Edelstein - Mrs. MacColl (4th Grade)
Parker Sanders - Ms. Wright (5th Grade)
 
Bronze Medal (won 3 games, tied 1 game and lost 1 game)
