Things to Know for ALL Scotch Highlanders 

 

  1. SAFELINE - 248-865-3282 

If your student will be absent, call the safeline! Please state and spell the student’s name, state the date of the absence and reason for absence. If you do not call the safeline, your student will be marked unexcused. 

  1. CARLINE - Please remember to follow the carline rules and etiquette. 

This helps our mornings and dismissals run smoothly and keep our students safe!

  1. START TIME - School starts at 9:10 a.m. Carline will end at 9:07 a.m.

Staff must get back into their roles and students in their classrooms at 9:10 a.m. If your child arrives after 9:10 a.m. you will be required to park in the parking lot, sign your child in at the office and your student will be marked tardy. 

  1. ABSENCES / CHANGES - Attendance matters for student learning!

We would like to keep students learning with minimal disruptions. If your child arrives after 10:15 a.m. they will be marked absent for the morning. If your child leaves prior to 3 p.m. they will be marked absent for the afternoon. If you are making a dismissal change after the school day begins, please notify our office as we cannot guarantee our teachers will see any last minute emails in the afternoon.

  1. DRESS CODE - Please make sure your child is wearing appropriate length shirts and shorts.

  2. LUNCH - To add money into your student’s lunch account go to

  1. 3rd Grade Lunch: 12:05 p.m. - 12:45 p.m.

  2. 4th Grade Lunch: 11:20 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

  3. 5th Grade Lunch: 12:50 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

 

  1. SPIRIT WEAR - Spirit wear is available through our PTO at www.linktree.com/scotchpto

  2. SNACKS - We are continuing our no snack policy (unless otherwise stated in a child’s 504). 

Please make sure children eat a good breakfast! Breakfast is also served in the Cafeteria from 8:50a.m. to 9:10a.m.

  1.  DISMISSAL - Please remind your children to please listen for the end of day announcements.

This is how students are dismissed to their busses, carlines and parents. We want to ensure all kids get to their designated areas in a timely manner! 

  1. CAPTURING KIDS’ HEARTS - Scotch is a five time National Showcase School. 

We look forward to becoming a SIX time National Showcase School, the only way we can make that happen is if we treat everyone with kindness, respect and love! When we make mistakes, we reflect and we learn from them because we are always all still learning!
