Parents

GENERAL INFORMATION:

● Parents will NOT be permitted to enter Roosevelt school grounds during arrival and dismissal.
● NO cars will be permitted in the Roosevelt parking lots OR surrounding businesses’
parking lots during arrival and dismissal time.
● All other students are required to use the car line or bus transportation.
● There are shuttle busses available to parents who wish to get their student as quickly as possible at dismissal time. These busses will take students to a remote location in Sylvan Lake to expedite dismissal procedures. We encourage families to utilize this service. Contact the transportation department for information about the shuttle bus (248) 865-3680.
● All Roosevelt families will be given 2 color coded signs (by grade level) with their student’s name on them for their car for dismissal purposes. We know some of you may not plan to pick up in the car line, but you will still be issued two signs, just in case. You MUST have this sign visible in your car window to ease speed and safety at dismissal time.

 

 

BUS RIDERS

● Bus riders will exit the building through the north doors at 3:10pm.
● Bus riders will proceed to their assigned bus.
● Any late busses will have its riders stay safely at Roosevelt until their bus arrives.
● Remember to sign up for the bus tracker app with Durham School Services for real time updates on your students' bus route.

 

 

CAR RIDERS

 

● Car riders will be escorted out of their classrooms by their classroom teachers to the sidewalk area and will wait with their teacher in an assigned spot outside, on the south side of the school.
● Car line will travel past the school building. You will then be required to use the loop at the back of the parking lot to turn around and exit. RIGHT TURNS ONLY out of the building onto Commerce Rd.
● Roosevelt staff will be looking for your color coded student sign in your car window, to minimize person-to-person contact. He/She will communicate your child’s name to the classroom teachers, so they can get your student to the “ready position” in front of a numbered spot.
● Car spots will be labeled with numbers on the sidewalk. Pull up to the next available numbered spot. Your child will be helped into the car once you have pulled up to a numbered spot.

 

 

 

BUS RIDERS

 

● Bus riders will be dropped off at Roosevelt, on the north end of the building.
● Bus riders will enter the building beginning at 8:10am. They will enter through the north side doors. (these doors are located by the gym). No cars will be allowed to drop students off at these doors.
● Staff will be posted along the way to assist and classroom teachers will be waiting in their classroom door to greet your child.

 

CAR RIDERS

 

● Car line will enter through the Commerce Road entrance. Cars will pull all the way up to the end of the sidewalk.
● No Cars will be allowed to drop students off in the front of the building (Orchard Lake entrance). This parking lot and entrance will be people visiting the office only.

● Staff will be outside to support students arriving in cars at 8:10am. Please do not release your student prior to 8:10am, we will not have supervision to support student safety before that time.
● Car riders will begin being let out of cars IN FRONT of Roosevelt ONLY at 8:10am.

• ○ Car riders may not be dropped off to Roosevelt prior to 8:10am due to a lack of
• adult supervision.
• ○ Car riders may not exit their vehicle until they are in front of the building.

● Car riders will be greeted by adults in the carline who will direct them to the entry doors.
● Staff will be posted along the way to assist and classroom teachers will be waiting in their classroom door to greet your child.
