I graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Sciences. After realizing my passion for working with high school students, I attended Wayne State University where I earned my M.A. in Teaching and received my teaching certification. I am currently working on an Ed.S degree from Central Michigan University.
I began my teaching career at West Bloomfield High School in 2010. I taught Civics, World History, Michigan History and Student Leadership. In 2011-2012, I became the Student Activities Director and Student Government sponsor. In 2017, I transitioned to the role of Assistant Principal at WBHS. My work as Assistant Principal was predominantly in the counseling office and focused on building the master schedule, social/emotional learning and college/career readiness. I moved into the role of Head of School for Oakland Early College in December of 2020. This was a very exciting transition for me as my personal and professional values align directly with those of OEC.
When I am not working with students, staff and community members, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, Grace, and my husband. We love to travel, spend time outdoors and cook fun meals!
