As principal I intend to support your child, his or her teacher, and you so your child builds strong relationships, gains confidence and grows their academic and social skills in our online environment. The experiences I have had as a technology media specialist, 4th, 5th and 6th grade teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal and principal in Monroe Public Schools, principal in Northville Public Schools and literacy coach in West Bloomfield Schools have given me a strong foundation to lead our Lakers Online School community into a world-class learning environment.
I earned my Bachelor of Science from Wayne State University in 2003, my Masters of Arts from Marygrove College in 2005 and my Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership from Liberty University in 2010. I began teaching in 2003 at Harrison High School in Farmington Hills and began my administration career in 2007. I started in the West Bloomfield School District in 2012, working in a variety of roles, and began here at OEC in 2021. When I am not working, my family keeps me busy with our four children all playing a variety of sports. When we aren't at a game, our family loves spending time on the water and attending various college and professional sporting events.
I graduated from Oakland University and Madonna University. I've earned a Bachelors in English and Psychology, and a Masters in Reading Education. I have been teaching since 1998. I taught at Orchard Lake Middle School. While there I worked with students in a variety of classes including STEAM, AVID, Geography, World History, American History, and Reading Support. When I'm not teaching I love playing all kinds of games with my fiercely competitive family, discovering new "dad" jokes, and walking with my dorky dachshund, Bean.
