The industrial technology department is comprised of three pathways of courses: Engineering, CAD and Architecture. Each of the three pathways is designed to teach students basic to advanced skills in their respective pathways. All of the programs in the Industrial Technology department are designed to introduce students to the career opportunities in the various fields related to the courses, but also to build each student’s skill set to prepare them for college level coursework in the fields. Students work in an assortment of settings from small groups to individual assignments and from simulation based learning to hands-on shop based projects. All of the classes utilize project-based learning methods with course content delivered both in a traditional paper method and electronically, helping students to develop online and offline organization and critical thinking-skills needed to be successful in the constantly evolving workplace.
