Welcome to Abbott Middle School. I look forward to again serving the families of Abbott Middle School and the West Bloomfield School District as Assistant Principal.
Previously I worked as a counselor at Abbott and WBHS for 19 years. I promise to continue to work hard for you and your children.
For those of you who do not know me, I received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Florida and my Masters Degree in Education/Counseling from the University of South Florida. After working in Washington, DC for two years in a political position, I returned to the University of Florida where I earned a Specialist Degree in Counseling. I have worked for West Bloomfield Public Schools for 19 years as a counselor both at Abbott and West Bloomfield High School. My experiences at the high school further solidified my understanding of the importance of the middle school experience. I enjoyed seeing that graduation 'end game' and how much of an impact middle school staff continued to have. the last two years I have worked as your middle school Assistant Principal.
The relationships forged at this level and the care the Abbott staff has for the students is unparalleled. More recently I have been involved in many district wide initiatives and had the opportunity to work with staff across the district. I believe in West Bloomfield Public Schools. I live in the district, work in the district and most importantly send my own son to West Bloomfield Schools. On a personal note, I have been married to my husband Mike for 16 years and our son will be an 8th grade student at Abbott this fall. I know what it feels like to entrust the staff with the most precious part of my life, and like you, I do that every day and have always been impressed.
I look forward to meeting both you and your Abbott students soon. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, my email is: firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also follow me on twitter @AbbottAPGraff
