I am a graduate of Madonna University, and I have my Master's Degree in Reading from Wayne State University. I have another Master's in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College. My first year of teaching was at Cornerstone Schools in Detroit, and then I taught at Doherty for 15 years before coming to Sheiko. I am entering my 21st year of teaching.
I have two beautiful children. Olivia is turning 17 this October and is going to be a senior this year. Logan is 13 years old and heading into eighth grade. I have been married to Christian for 21 years. He is a sergeant at Livonia Police Department. He loves to stop by and talk with the class.
MISSION FOR THE CLASS
My mission is to raise the self-esteem and self-worth of every child in my classroom. I will empower them to reach their full potential by making choices for themselves. I will motivate them to be a great person for themselves, their family, and their community. I will establish high expectations for the children in academics, behavior, and peer interactions. I will also hold them responsible for meeting those expectations. I will make my students walk away with a sense that I care for them and they are an important person.
