Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Julie Walton
My journey to the Resource Room has opened my heart and eyes to the special learning challenges faced by students across educational settings. I graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelor of Science in Health, Physical Education, and Social Sciences. My early experiences led to graduate school and private sector employment including teaching, sales, and program administration as well as establishing a home where my husband and I raised our 4 children. When my last child, who is now a young adult, entered WBSD, I began my own relationship with West Bloomfield as a guest teacher for 4 years. During this time, I worked in various capacities and determined to complete my Master's in Special Education receiving endorsements for students with emotional impairment and specific learning disabilities. In 2010, I officially joined the teaching staff in West Bloomfield, teaching in the STEPS program at Roosevelt for 5 years. I moved on to Scotch, and in 2016 was honored to join the staff at Gretchko to provide support services for general education students. I consider it a great privilege to work with the dedicated team here, and take seriously the responsibility to support students as they navigate through their educational experience.
