Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Tessa Wilson
Welcome to first grade! I am so excited to be a part of the Doherty family this year. This is my first year as a first grade teacher at Doherty Elementary school but it is my sixth year teaching. I have taught kindergarten, second, and fifth grade prior to this year. I earned my bachelor's degree in elementary education from Oakland University in 2010. I currently hold endorsements in language arts and social studies. I am taking my last class to complete my master's degree as a reading specialist, also at Oakland University, and will be graduating in December 2017.
I live in Waterford with my husband Darren, and our two sons, Noah and Gabe. We also have two cats, Chloe, and Kruse, and are looking forward to adding a puppy this summer. We enjoy spending time outdoors as a family! The boys love when we go on family walks in our neighborhood and ride our bikes!
I feel so lucky to be a part of the wonderful Doherty family and can't wait to help you children learn and grow this year in first grade. One of my greatest joys is helping my young students learn and discover new things in a fun, safe, and caring environment.
