Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Megan Jurgensen
Hello, my name is Megan Jurgensen! I began teaching at Abbott Middle School in 2016. Before then, I graduated from Michigan State University and student taught in Ann Arbor. I currently teach resource room language arts for grades 6th, 7th, and 8th. I also teach Read 180 for 6th grade and team teach 7th grade science.
I am currently finishing up my master’s degree in Special Education at Michigan State University. I hope to bring many of the strategies and techniques I learn through my courses to my classroom.
Like many ELA teachers, I am an avid reader, but I enjoy writing much more. Writing brings me relief after a busy day and helps me focus my thinking on one aspect. My hope is to not only show students the importance of reading and writing in academics but to show students how it can help them in times of needs, such as stress and anxiety.
I look forward to another great year at Abbott!
