2019-2023 Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School.

Active and supportive PTO that puts money where it counts: into student learning and rich experiences.  This includes over $5,000 donated for quality reading materials for each classroom, access to home-school online learning experiences, and other upgrades for students and staff.

Actively supporting students with social-emotional learning through a wide variety of platforms, including: use of RULER SEL curriculum through morning announcements, school wide coping kits in every classroom to aide in emotional regulation, buddy benches on the playground, yoga opportunities, and Capturing Kids’ Hearts tools.

Motor Moves is a kindergarten plus program that is designed and implemented to help students gain motor skills necessary for academic success.  This program involves our wonderful parent volunteers and the guidance of our Doherty teacher, Mr. Ryan Crowe.

Our Doherty student council has raised over $2,000 for the Children's Hospital of Michigan to purchase toys for patients during the holidays.  Our student council continues to give back to our community with other community service projects throughout the school year.
