Child Find
What is Child Find?
Child Find is an evaluation program available through West Bloomfield School District which identifies resident children ages birth through five years who may have a developmental delay or be in need of special education services. Child Find offers evaluations to children suspected of having a delay or disability at no charge. Following the evaluation, eligible children are referred to appropriate programs and services.

A team specializing in the areas of concern, works with the parents and child to determine eligibility for special education services.

- Speech/Language Pathologist
- Special Education Teacher
- School Psychologist
- School Social Worker
- Occupational Therapist
- Physical Therapist

If you suspect your preschool age child (ages 3 to 5) may need special education services, please contact the Child Find Coordinator, Joy Oetjens at joy.oetjens@wbsd.org or (248) 865-6470.
If you suspect your child ages 6 through 26, may need special education services please contact the Student Support Services Department at (248) 865-6470.
Eligible children will be referred to appropriate programs and services per federal and state guidelines.
