West Bloomfield School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Carly Bellairs as the Head of School at Oakland Early College, effective September 1, 2026. Bellairs, who has served as a School Counselor at Oakland Early College since 2017, brings extensive knowledge of the school, its students and staff, and the unique early college model.
Throughout her tenure at Oakland Early College, Bellairs has demonstrated a strong commitment to student success, academic achievement, college and career readiness, and building a positive and supportive school culture. As a member of the building leadership team, she has contributed to school improvement initiatives, master scheduling, student support systems, and school policies. She has also played an important role in student recruitment and admissions, transition programming, college partnerships, family engagement, and career readiness initiatives. In addition, Bellairs coordinates the Oakland Early College MiLeap FAFSA Grant and has experience managing grant funds, student activity funds, schoolwide events, graduation, and Honors Convocation.
“Carly’s deep understanding of Oakland Early College and her commitment to students make her an excellent fit for this leadership role,” said Superintendent Dr. Dania Bazzi. “She has built strong relationships with students, families and staff and understands what makes Oakland Early College such a unique and successful learning environment. We look forward to seeing her build upon the school’s strong foundation and continue creating opportunities for students.”
Bellairs holds a Master of Arts in School Counseling from Wayne State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Community Relations and Political Science from Michigan State University. She is currently completing the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals Pathway to Leadership Program, with an expected completion date of April 2027.
