After a comprehensive and rigorous search process, the West Bloomfield School District is pleased to announce Scott Long has been appointed to the position of Assistant Superintendent of Learning Services. Mr. Long’s appointment was confirmed at the June 21 West Bloomfield Board of Education meeting. Mr. Long will start this new position effective July 1, 2021.
Mr. Long earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from Central Michigan University in 2004 and his Master’s in Reading and Literacy (K-12) from Central Michigan University in 2010. Mr. Long also received his Education Specialist Certification in Leadership from Oakland University in 2015.
Mr. Long previously served within the West Bloomfield School District as Assistant Principal of Orchard Lake Middle School from 2013 to 2017 and Principal of Doherty Elementary from 2018 to 2021. Prior to serving in an administrative role, Mr. Long served as a teacher at Orchard Lake Middle School teaching subjects including English Language Arts, AVID and History from 2004-2013.

Mr. Long will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Office of Learning Services and our instructional teams.”
