Summer Readers Recognized

The West Bloomfield School District recently recognized the students who participated in the West Bloomfield Township Public Library Summer Reading Contest at the Sept. 23 Board of Education meeting. The top five readers from each building received a medal and were recognized by the board for their outstanding achievement. 

At the elementary level, 398 students participated with the group reading 8,790 hours.

  • Doherty Elementary had 97 participants reading 1,646 hours. The top five readers were:

    • Ellla Malott

  • Gretchko Elementary had 84 participants reading 1,875 hours. The top five readers were:

  • Roosevelt Elementary had 88 participants reading 3,186 hours. The top five readers were:

  • Scotch Elementary had 48 participants reading 869 hours. The top five readers were:

  • Sheiko Elementary had 81 participants reading 1,214 hours. The top five readers were:

At the middle and high school levels, 167 students participated with the group reading 8,628 hours.

  • Abbott Middle School had 57 participants reading 2,357 hours. The top five readers were:

  • Orchard Lake Middle School had 55 participants reading 2,501 hours. The top five readers were:
