On Tuesday, May 4 citizens residing in the West Bloomfield School District will be heading to the polls to cast their ballot regarding the district’s recently announced non-homestead millage restoration proposal.
Due to potential risk that in-person voting may create for our students and staff within our school buildings, we have decided to shift to Remote Learning on Tuesday, May 4. Four of our schools (Doherty, Gretchko, Scotch and Sheiko) serve as election precincts in our community and there will be additional traffic and visitors to those buildings throughout the day.
We understand the inconvenience this creates for our families and their schedules. We wanted to make this decision early to give our families time to make the necessary remote learning arrangements for May 4.
We hope our residents, including our staff and students of voting age, exercise their right to vote and participate in the democratic process. For more information on the election, please visit www.wbsd.org/elections.
We’d also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of next week’s updated school calendar (April 12-14) regarding spring testing. A link to that information can be found on our district website. This information was also shared via email prior to Spring Break.
Once again, the West Bloomfield School District will be engaging in Remote Learning on Tuesday, May 4.
We truly appreciate your continued support and understanding.
