16 DECA students were recognized with the prestigious 2026 Emerging Leader Honor Award, an international distinction that celebrates outstanding leadership, academic excellence, and dedication to career and technical education.
This honor is awarded to DECA members who demonstrate exceptional commitment to developing leadership skills, community involvement, and academic achievement throughout their high school careers.

All students are members of the WBHS DECA chapter under the leadership of advisors Ms. Julie Zalla, Mrs. Laura Wowk, Mr. James Shaw, Mr. Adam Burnett, Mrs. Lori Cairns, and Mrs. Lisa Sallen.
“These students have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to leadership, service, and personal growth,” said Ms. Zalla. “Their dedication both in and out of the classroom reflects the very best of our DECA program and our school community.”
Recipients of the Emerging Leader Honor Award are recognized at the international level and serve as role models among their peers, exemplifying the core values of leadership, integrity, and professionalism.
WBHS congratulates these outstanding students on their achievement and looks forward to their continued success in DECA and beyond.
