Alumni News: Crawford selected for MSU Homecoming Court

Brandon Crawford, West Bloomfield High School Class of 2017, is one of 10 Michigan State University students selected to be on MSU's Homecoming Court for 2020.

“Being part of the homecoming court is something only a few Spartans can say they’ve
done, and we’re the only court, thus far, to participate virtually,” said Crawford. “It’s
definitely different from what I expected, but overall it’s been a blast!”

MSU’s homecoming court is comprised of 10 students who were selected based on their
ability to exemplify the qualities of leadership, spirit, integrity and achievement through
their contributions and involvement at MSU. During Crawford’s time at MSU he’s
participated in University Activities Board, both as a member and two-time director,
Wharton Center Student Marketing Organization, Public Relations Manager for the
Associated Students of Michigan State University, West Circle LGBTQ+ caucus, and
Greek Life. Crawford is also a member of the Honors College.

“There are elements I miss, such as the homecoming parade and game, but safety comes
first,” said Crawford. “Since homecoming is entirely virtual, I’ve gotten really good at
recording videos or doing Zoom calls in my living room.”

Crawford is currently in his senior year at MSU. He is studying advertising management
with a double minor in public relations. Post-graduation, Crawford wants to start his
career at an advertising or public relations agency in a major city. He is also looking into
graduate school, contingent on financial ability.

Previous homecoming court members from WBHS include Mario Kakos and Lamont
