Community
Extremely high parent and community support of the district is witnessed through strong partnerships and involvement. Parents are an integral component of the education of their children and their involvement is encouraged and supported in our district through a variety of committee memberships and school initiatives. Parental participation in our West Bloomfield Educational Foundation and in school conferences and open houses is consistently high.
There is a very active PTO and Parent Communication Network (PCN) that meets regularly to foster strong parent-school relationships. The all-volunteer West Bloomfield Educational Foundation provides critical financial support to the district.
In addition, we provide a list of helpful community links for your reference, our legislative contacts, and many of our school district partners.
Laker Senior Gold Cards are available for our West Bloomfield School District senior residents. Gold Cards allow senior citizens (62+) to attend school district events such as plays, athletic games and musical performances FREE OF CHARGE.
Our Children’s Fund meets emergency needs and provides resources to help ensure that every student in the West Bloomfield School District is able to participate in academic and enrichment activities.
West Bloomfield Youth Assistance (WBYA) is a non-profit organization that offers professional counseling services and prevention programs for families residing within the West Bloomfield School District.
The school district communicates to our local community via our quarterly newsletter, The Laker; on our school district cable channel, WBTV which airs on Comcast Channel 19 and AT&T Channel 99, and our newest 89.3 WBLD Lakes FM radio station. WBHS Alumni can obtain news about reunions and their graduating class on our Alumni page, the Alumni Facebook page and on Alumni Spotlight.
