We understand the challenges of managing your child’s Cloud Learning experience, finding a balance between work and home responsibilities and feeling alone in this journey.

We would like to invite you to our first Lakers Connect:  Navigating Cloud Learning and Our New Normal “meeting” on Thursday, April 2.  There are two opportunities to participate.  The first session is at 10:30 a.m. and the second at 8 p.m. The Zoom links for each meeting are below.

Our discussion will be led by Becky Heitsch, district Restorative Practice coach, Amy Quinn, K-12 Science and Math Coordinator, Claudia Rodgers, Scotch Social Worker and Deanna Barash, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.  We will share some tips and ideas from our perspectives as educators and parents. We also want to hear your thoughts, feelings and frustrations. Our goal is to support one another during this unprecedented time in our world.

All families are invited to participate. We look forward to connecting with all of you on Thursday.

Educators in West Bloomfield have determined ways to help kids participate in learning outside of the classroom. Students in West Bloomfield will have the chance to show what they know via the cloud.

For instruction at the elementary level, our Teaching and Learning teams have been hard at work on assembling meaningful instructional resources for students, including Bridges math workplaces, “just right” books and more.  These resources are meant to enhance the Cloud learning experience. For our K-2 families, the resources will also include login information for our Google platform and PowerSchool.

We will be transitioning our teaching and learning online through Cloud Learning. It is our goal each day to do what is best for kids and we believe keeping the pathways to education open for our students fall directly in line with that objective.  All classes will be held through Google Classroom.  You should have received an invitation to join your child’s classes today - please accept that invitation to monitor your child’s progress.  If you or your child need help accessing the Google platform, visit for technology assistance.
