Elementary Summer Learning

Join us for a reimagined elementary summer learning opportunity! Students will be taught by certified teachers with WBSD curriculum resources with special education and ESL support will be available.

Students will experience engaging theme weeks, Be a Laker Detective and Be a Laker Maker and much more while learning in multiage classrooms (K-2 & 3-4) with flexible grouping options.

Elementary Summer Learning Opportunities

In-Person Details

  • Open to current K-4 students
  • Location: Doherty Elementary School or Gretchko Elementary School (You will make your selection of location during registration.)
  • 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  • June 21 - July 16 AND/OR July 19 - August 13 (M-F)
  • No School July 5
  • April 19 - May 21 Registration Window
  • Transportation available
  • Breakfast and Lunch available at no charge
  • Early Bird and Late Stay Childcare will be available through Community Education for an additional fee
  • **(Programming funded by Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund)

Additional Information
  • Socially distanced classrooms, lunch and recess
  • CDC safety protocols will be followed
  • Breakfast and lunch will be provided (Funded by FDA Grant)
  • Transportation will be provided upon request while registering
  • Field trips planned

Program Highlights

  • Be a Laker Detectives will use clues to improve their reading strategies and solve number stories.
  • Other engaging activities might include an Among Us themed challenge, board game challenge and a scavenger hunt to find the ultimate discovery!
  • Students will apply their innovative thinking to create, build and design their maker project.
