Summer Learning

New for 2021 is our district's latest offering of summer learning opportunities for students in grades K-12. This refreshed approach will have students of all ages growing and expanding their educational skills through a series of innovative activities and engaging themes. These experiences are available for both in-person and virtual learning at the elementary, middle school and high school levels. 

All this is being offered at NO COST to families!

A Reimagined Summer Learning Experience - Multiple Ways to Learn

In-Person

  • Taught by certified teachers with WBSD curriculum resources
  • Socially distanced classrooms, lunch and recess
  • CDC safety protocols will be followed
  • Multiage classrooms and flexible grouping
  • Engaging theme weeks
  • Breakfast and lunch will be provided
  • Transportation will be provided upon request while registering
  • Special education and ESL support will be available
  • Multiple field trips will be planned

Summer School Safety Protocols

  • Small class sizes K-11 (approximately 12-16 students per class)
  • Students will remain with their cohort class
  • Masks will be worn by students and staff
  • Social distancing
  • Classroom and bus sanitation daily
  • Student hand washing and hand sanitizing
  • Lunch safety protocols with plastic barriers and social distancing
  • Each building will have an isolation room for ill students
  • Seating charts will be in place to assist in contract tracing
