English Language Arts

English language arts can best be described as the vehicles of communication by which we live, work, share and build ideas. Contained within the English language arts are the process skills and strategies used in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and viewing. Content includes the ideas, themes, issues, problems, and conflicts found in classical and contemporary literature and other texts, such as technical manuals, periodicals, speeches and videos. The ideas, experiences, and cultural perspectives we discover in texts help us shape our vision of the world.

The ultimate goal is for students to communicate skillfully and effectively through printed, visual, auditory, and technological media in the home, school, community and workplace.
