ALEKS
Welcome, West Bloomfield students and parents!
ALEKS is a personalized digital learning platform designed to support students in mathematics both in school and at home. It uses adaptive technology to identify what each student is ready to learn next and provides targeted practice to build understanding and confidence.
ALEKS aligns with standards and our District secondary mathematics resource, Reveal Math. It also uses student performance data to create an individualized learning path, helping students focus on the skills they are most ready to learn. As students work, ALEKS continuously adjusts to ensure they are progressing at an appropriate pace.
- The Initial Knowledge Check accurately determines what each student knows, doesn’t know, and is ready to learn next.
- The ALEKS Pie visually depicts how much a student knows and how much they have left to learn within each topic area
accessing aleks
- Grades 6–12
- Students access ALEKS through their math class, as assigned by their teacher.
- Middle school students may also access ALEKS during Advisory.
- All 6-12 students may also use ALEKS at home to practice skills, review concepts, and monitor their progress through their personalized learning path.
logging into aleks
- Students access ALEKS by signing into their school Clever account using their school email and password.
- Once in Clever, they click on the McGraw-Hill app (red block).
- They are then directed to the ALEKS platform.
- Students select the ALEKS class assigned to them.
- From there, they click “Continue My Path” in the top left, or “Start My Path” if they are new to ALEKS.
- New ALEKS users complete an initial knowledge check and a brief “Tools Tutorial.”
how to track student progress
Encouraging students to regularly check their pie chart and progress helps them stay motivated and take ownership of their learning. To view progress, students can:
- Click on the “Timeline” tab on the upper right of the home page.
- Once the student is on the class home page, they will see their “Pie Progress” on top of the page.
- For students who have previously used ALEKS, progress will have transferred from a different class.
