The West Bloomfield School District is fortunate to have a strong, collaborative relationship with all local law enforcement groups with jurisdiction over our boundaries. These community partnerships are vital to support the safe and inclusive atmosphere we work to create for all students in our buildings.

Detective Katie Roshirt

A critical part of this safety plan is the work of our school liaison officer from the West Bloomfield Police Department, Detective Katie Roshirt

Detective Roshirt is born and raised in West Bloomfield and graduate from West Bloomfield High School in 2006. She then went on to study at Central Michigan University where she earned her bachelor's degree in sociology with a minor in substance abuse treatment.

After college, she worked for the Oakland County Circuit Court for two years before ultimately deciding to pursue law enforcement. She graduate from the police academy in 2012 and started work with the Keego Harbor Police Department and Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

In 2013, she was hired by the West Bloomfield Police Department. She now works in the department's investigations division, a role she has occupied since 2016.
