Art is my passion and my greatest strength. I love teaching and working with it every day. I have been an art teacher for West Bloomfield Schools for 14 years. Prior to that, I taught art in the Chicago Suburbs.

I live in Beverly Hills with my husband and 2 sons. I travel and enjoy spending time with my family. I regularly visit art museums, one of my favorites is the Detroit Institute of Arts. I attend workshops at DIA and enjoy learning more about art and others' perspectives of it every day.

Currently, I am working on the use of iPads in the classroom and I have future projects planned with them.
I will publish artwork on a website called Artsonia in which parents can view their child's artwork.

This year and every year I hope to have a great class for my students. Parental involvement is important and I hope to have a lot of volunteers.

In my classroom, students learn art at a pace appropriate for their age and ability. I aim to teach problem-solving and inspire creativity with every student. Students are encouraged to connect the visual knowledge and ability they develop in my class with all other subjects.

Art history is important and incorporated into my lesson plans and projects. Students creatively learn about Picasso, Da Vinci, and others while doing fun and involved projects.

I believe art is important to life and learning, and that it enhances one's passion for creativity. It also is essential for a child's development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Art also develops self-confidence and builds upon prior knowledge and sequential skills. I use art to help develop these traits and actively encourage every student to try their best.

Art builds an understanding between cultures and teaches respect of their differences. I encourage equality in my classroom and strive to diversify my lesson plans and projects.
