The West Bloomfield School District is excited to provide a 1:1 Mobile Learning Environment for all Secondary Students (middle and high school). Students will have the opportunity to use their own laptop/tablet, or use a district provided Chromebook in class every day. Our teachers will be using these “technology tools” to help deliver and engage students during lessons. However, it is important to note that these tools will not replace rich student-teacher interactions and the exemplary instructional delivery methods utilized by all of our teachers.
Elementary students will also benefit from the district-wide instructional technology enhancements. 5th grade students will be learning in a 1:1 Chromebook environment. These devices will be utilized in-school only. We took a more varied approach to the mobile devices in grades K-4. These students will be working in a 1:2 device environment with access to Chromebooks, Samsung tablets and Ipads. A complete summary of the district-wide instructional technology enhancements can be accessed by clicking the link below:
To facilitate planning for the upcoming school year (2015-16), a Device Commitment Form must be completed for all students entering grades 6 and students new to the school district. As a part of this process, you and your child will need to read and sign all of the technology policies related to the use of mobile devices and the West Bloomfield School District WiFi Network. The technology policies and device commitment forms can be found at the links below.
